The apartment was perfect for our stay. We were initially hesistant that the noise around Leidesplein may ruin our vacation, but we were surprised that the nosie (even at 4 or 5 in the morning) didn’t bother us! The apartment was clean and very comfortable.

The apt was fully equipped with beautiful artwork and a lovely fresh bouquet of flowers. Those nice touches made it feel like home. Host was welcoming and provided a great deal of info re transits, etc.

Aanrader!”
Hi, I just wanted to confirm that the apartment and host were both absolutely fantastic and we look forward to staying again, the garden was beautiful and peaceful and the location was perfect. We loved everything about this accommodation, especially the cats. Erin
there were only 4 cups and 5 glasses with one to chip. The vesicle lava door was held with tape. the full under the cuissine too. One of the shower had no fitting and was leaking a lot. No calves, no double bed and especially no bed at the same height to make a double bed. On the gas stove only one plate out of 4 was functional. The WIFI did not work either and it did not work out of the week despite a trip to the agency.
From the moment of booking online till leaving the apartment I felt taken care of. I was in contact with Vivian, who takes care of Esther’s apartments. She was quick with her replies to all my questions (I had many…) and also gave me awesome hints and tricks for my first stay in Amsterdam. Vivian was available and very flexible for our check-in time. The apartment itself was clean and made me feel at home. It is an apartment which doesn’t leak of character. Only the floor was pretty cold and I would recommend to future guests to bring warm socks or house shoes. In summertime, one might be happy with the cold. Heating, Wifi, hot water, beds: all perfect. The apartment is perfectly situated for guests who like to spend time in the city centre. Only a 10 minutes walk and you are there and still the road at the apartment is very quiet. The church bells are something different. I didn’t mind but my friend recommends earplugs. I highly recommend this apartment and will book again for the next time. Best regards Kim
Cons: The picture they show of the room is not even close to what I had to stay in. My room was old, smelled horrible, most of the lights did not work, and the shower head was broke. This has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a hotel..
Kamer erg klein. Heel benauwd, was slechts 1 klein raampje. Kamer lag in de buurt van de toiletten op de gang. Heel veel kabaal van dichtslaande deuren waardoor je bijna niet aan slapen toe kwam. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar.
Pros: This hotel was in a great location and had very friendly staff. The room set up was a little strange. The bathroom was all glass and lacked privacy. The bed was also placed strangely with the foot of the bed against the wall. This was a very clean hotel, and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in.
Moving slightly further from the city centre, the southern area of Amsterdam is home to top tourist attractions such as the Museum Quarter, Vondelpark and the lively markets of De Pijp. Hotels in this neighbourhood are also great for people looking for a quiet break in Amsterdam rather than a party weekend.
Most of the conferences take place at RAI Amsterdam, a large conference complex south of the centre, easily accessible by metro. You can conveniently stay downtown and use public transport to get there. If you prefer to stay nearby, there are several business hotels near RAI Amsterdam.
This modern 5-star hotel sits in the quiet southern Amsterdam neighbourhood of Oud Zuid, on the banks of the River Amstel. The hotel is a short walk to Amsterdam’s best museums, the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum. Back in the hotel you can relax in the lounge or dine in the restaurant. The hotel offers free Wi-fi.
Hostels are cheap Amsterdam accommodation option where a number of people share one room or a dorm. Cheap hostels are a good alternative for those on a budget, but offer less privacy. They are mostly visited by students and backpackers, thus are popular places to meet fellow travellers. Most of the youth hostels are situated in the city centre and the prices vary from 17 to 30 euros per person. There are also smoking allowed hostels equipped with smoking room.
The best area to stay in Amsterdam will depend on what you’re visiting for: history and culture, epic nights out or a bit of both. We’ve put together a quick guide to the best places to stay in Amsterdam, and some of our favourite hotels in each area.
This five star bed and breakfast has contemporary rooms with exposed beam ceilings. It’s adults only, so you can enjoy a very grown up stay. Although it’s a B&B, breakfast isn’t served on-site: instead you get a voucher for the celebrated Vlaamsch Broodhuys bakers just along the road.
Hi, I would just like to say that the apartment was fantastic. The location was second to none, it was spacious and clean, and the check in/out was quick and easy. The owner was very friendly and kept in contact. I will definitely be using this accommodation again, provided it is available !!. Thanks
Make yourself at home right in the heart of the city centre of Amsterdam. Ibis Styles Amsterdam Central Station is stylish and ideally located right across Amsterdam’s central train station. Reach the hotel in 30 minutes by taxi or train from Schiphol Airport. If you like shopping, then this hotel is ideally situated. Within 5 minutes you can be on Dam Square, Kalverstraat, and the 9 Streets area. Walk through the lively Jordaan area to reach the Anne Frank House in only 10 minutes.
Pros: The building is an antique that seems to recently been rejuvenated. It’s important to keep this in mind when coming here, because the place is not a modern hotel, and so some modern things may be missing. For example, the elevators could be quite awkward and I cannot imagine how the floors are handicap accessible. That said, the bathrooms were brand new and quite nice. And finally, they throw in a full, FREE mini-bar.
Business travellers may prefer to stay in Amsterdam’s Zuidas district. Known as the city’s “Financial Mile,” the region is located between the city centre and Schiphol Airport and features a range of business hotels near the RAI Convention Centre.
Parents with small chidren would probably be most happy to keep themselves out of the main tourist crowds, red light district and noisy bars. We would recommend to get Amsterdam accommodation in the area around Vondelpark, the largest park in Amsterdam that offers a lot of entertainment for kids. For accommodations in and around the park see our page on Vondelpark.
