HOTELS IN AMSTERDAM FOR STUDENTS | LIST OF ACCOMMODATION

I’d like to say the apartment was lovely. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we required. It was so much better than staying at a hotel as you feel as if you have a home base which is much more relaxing than a hotel. The location was ideal. Really close to the city centre on the many trams that went past nearby. It was close to a main shopping area where there were supermarkets etc. And to the local market that was there every day (except Sunday) . The local bars and restaurants were extremely friendly and welcoming…as was everywhere we went in the city. I would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone looking in this area and will be looking for availability here next time we visit Amsterdam Thanks again for all your help with my cancelled booking/re-booking Anne-Marie

Situated on Dam Square and offering views of the Royal Palace, the 5-star NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky is an elegant choice. A short walk away, the 4-star Radisson Blu Hotel, Amsterdam, cleverly merges contemporary design with the historical architecture of 18th century merchant houses.
Amsterdam Airport Schipol is located 9kms outside of the city and there are a number of great hotels nearby. Check out our recommendations of hotels near Amsterdam airport to find the ideal place for you.

Hi I had a fantastic stay. The apparent was spacious, warm and even had UK mains adapters in the sockets. Everything I could possibly need was in the flat. First rate accommodation, weed friendly and at a reasonable rate. I’ll definitely be staying here again Graham
With a stay at Camp Inn Hotel Amsterdam in Amsterdam (Amsterdam West), you’ll be within a 15-minute drive of Anne Frank House and Leidseplein. This hotel is 3.9 mi (6.3 km) from Nes and 2.2 mi (3.6 km) from New Church.
Hotels in Amsterdam-Centrum, Amsterdam Oud-Zuid and Amsterdam Oud-West have the most searches on KAYAK. For more information about Amsterdam’s different neighborhoods, check out our Amsterdam’s City Guide.
Pros: It’s right in the center of things and I had no problem walking to most of the hotspots in the city which was awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great design of the place as the rooms are pretty stunning. Would def recommend to others

HOTELS

Budget accommodation can be found just a short walk away from the city centre. Leafy Oud-West, which borders Vondelpark, or vibrant De Pijp are desirable neighbourhoods, which offer a variety of comfortable hotels.
For food on the go, chips with peanut sauce (another Indonesian fusion) are a very addictive Dutch snack and can be bought at most street stands. Raw herring may not sound appetising to everyone, but, served with onions, is another popular street food snack.
Cons: I was on the first floor and there didn’t seem to be a staircase that I could take to go one flight of stairs. It was annoying always having to wait for the elevator (which was insanely crowded) for such a tiny distance. Also, no gym which I expect in a hotel of this size and class.
Some of the historical luxury hotels or boutique hotels overlooking the canal are valued for their romatic atmosphere, as are houseboats, a speciality of Amsterdam. Several castle hotels, windmill and lighthouse inns are situated in the region, but not directly in the city.
Parents with small chidren would probably be most happy to keep themselves out of the main tourist crowds, red light district and noisy bars. We would recommend to get Amsterdam accommodation in the area around Vondelpark, the largest park in Amsterdam that offers a lot of entertainment for kids. For accommodations in and around the park see our page on Vondelpark.
Originally a working-class neighbourhood, an influx of artists has given Jordaan a bohemian feel, with its narrow streets, charming hofjes (inner courtyards) and independent boutiques and art galleries. On Monday mornings a flea market stretches from Noordermarkt to Westerstraat in the heart of the Jordaan district. View hotels.
Van de betoverende grachtengordel tot de levendige Wallen, en van de drukte van het Rembrandtplein tot de rustige woonwijken van Oud Zuid – Amsterdam is verrassend in variatie, en iedere bezoeker voelt zich er thuis.
Pros: The Pulitzer was recently redesigned and it exceeded my expectations in almost every way. The location can’t be beat. It’s in a very smart area in Amsterdam with great bars, shops, and restaurants nearby. The design of the hotel is very chic. The interior courtyard garden is amazing. Everything was perfect except service at restaurant Jansz. Everyone was well intended but some people (hostess) abandoned post for several minutes and people were left waiting to be received and, &! My case, to collect my coat. This is one area of operation to inspect. Otherwise, everything was so perfect. I’ve stayed also at the Dylan hotel and Waldorf and I would say that this hotel is better than Waldorf because the design is so smart and not generic like Waldorf. And I would say it’s equal to the Dylan. Dylan is also chic but has a more classic design inspiration. Stay here while it’s still affordable. I imagine rates will increase once reviews and bookings start coming in.
Shop till you drop at Amsterdam’s most luxury shopping street, PC Hooftstraat, the most popular street market at Albert Cuyp or in the fancy design shops of the Jordaan district. Famous pancakes and frites with mayonnaise are a must-try! The more adventurous traveller might want to try the pickled herring, followed closely by a local beer.
Amsterdam’s Centraal train station leads directly to the city’s medieval centre, known as De Wallen. Home to the infamous Red Light District as well as Dam Square, this area features a variety of hotel options ranging from hostels and basic hotels to 5-star luxury accommodation.
Amsterdam is so much fun Rent bikes as is great fun but be careful ! Great city for adventures Do the night cruise with beers and burgers it’s fun and a good way to meet people Great city to cycle around or walk and see a lot of places
Amsterdam is overflowing with accommodation choices for every type of trip. Whether you’re visiting for a romantic weekend, a business trip or a fun holiday with friends, you’ll be spoilt for choice with brilliant places to stay in Amsterdam.
Quiet, but reasonably close to the city centre. The host cares about your experience, and gives alot of helpful information about the apartment, the community, as well as transit info. The apartment is very well equipped.
Schiphol Airport features several excellent hotel options including Sheraton Amsterdam Hotel and Conference Center, CitizenM Schiphol Airport Hotel, and Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Each of these comfortable, contemporary hotels feature on-site cafes or restaurants and are just a short walk to the airport terminal.
The Royal Theatre Carré was originally designed as a circus theatre in 1887 and now features acclaimed shows like The War Horse and performers such as Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, and Marianne Faithfull.
The English-style bed and breakfast set-up was not commonly found option of accommodation in Amsterdam. But with the scarcity of hotel rooms these days, this accommodation service is becoming more popular. Today a few private landlords and some agencies specialize in renting rooms as a bed and breakfast. City is full of cafes and breakfast bars so most of the so-called b&b’s actually do not serve breakfasts. These Amsterdam accommodations are referred to as holiday apartments.
“Just perfect. 4 metro stops from center and station (stop just close to hotel). Nice staff and bar, 2 clubs, restaurant. Breakfast complete and really tasty. Room tiny and comfortable with nice view of the city.”

First, it’s an English speaking Dutch country so that’s major in terms of communication. Second, people are very friendly and helpful so don’t be afraid to stop people and asking them for directions, which trams to take etc. Third, as a vegan it’s a perfect city to eat – lot’s of vegan places or vegan-friendly restaurants so you will not go hungry! Even the main supermarket, Albert Heijn, has many grab and go options, which is great if you don’t want to have to sit in a restaurant.
Pros: Bar and eating area were cool to hang and chill. The beds were a bit firm but I did not mind. Having to keep riding the ferry was a bit much but if you factor that into your commute you should be good. Currently there is a ton of construction on all sides which hindered me finding it the first time but once I found the bridge I was good.
Geweldige stad. Veel te doen voor alle leeftijden. Gezellige kroegen, lekker eten. Wel ontzettend druk. Café Hoppe (spui) is een topper evenals café old sailor (de wallen). Restaurant Haesje Claas lekker Hollands. Met de dames naar de diamantair Gassan geweest. Leuke rondleiding!
Pros: The hotel staff were very friendly and responsive. We were upgraded to a nice room. The breakfast was fantastic, probably the best we had had in a long time. The location is perfect for any visitor and Amsterdam is one of the most picturesque cities in the world. Also to note, people in Amsterdam (including all the hotel staff) were extremely friendly and ready to help. Loved it!
Pros: Cannot say enough about how great our stay was here! We extended our stay by a day we loved it so much. The prices were very reasonable. They checked us in 2 hrs early with zero hassle. All of the room supplies were included. While not exceedingly spacious, everything about the room and hotel oozed modern style. There was interesting literature on the shelves. The beds were clean and comfortable. In the lobby was a hip restaurant with delicious and affordable faire which we frequented almost every day, and at night became a popular bar until 1 am. There were many other places to eat, shop, or stroll past from the Hoxton’s central location, but it was far enough removed from the main tourist areas to feel somewhat local. I would recommend this place to anyone except maybe those traveling with children, as I believe they had to “cheat” to fit us into a single room, and we are smaller than your average humans as it was.
