Hi I had a fantastic stay. The apparent was spacious, warm and even had UK mains adapters in the sockets. Everything I could possibly need was in the flat. First rate accommodation, weed friendly and at a reasonable rate. I’ll definitely be staying here again Graham

“Alles (ontbijt, locatie, kamers) gewoon top! Hotel ligt op 5min wandelen van het Amstel Station. Je kan de auto makkelijk parkeren in de gratis ondergrondse parking. Kamers heel mooi en badkamer zeer…”
This award-winning B&B sits above the celebrated Italian restaurant of the same name. There are two room types, standard and studio. The studio has its own kitchen so you can prepare your own meals and snacks.

These apartments in Amsterdam give you the freedom to work, cook and relax as if you were at home. Guests can also enjoy complimentary breakfasts, so don’t worry about stocking up on pastries when you hit the supermarket.
We would love to give the following testimonial: We visited this home as a family of 4 (2 adults, a 12-year old and a 10-year old), and found it absolutely amazing for our needs. It was so central that we could either walk to everything we needed or grab a tram. Perfect for Anne Franks’ House, the Dam, Central Station and the Canal region. Fantastic restaurants nearby, with great food for all tastes! Although there was a perfect kitchen, supplied with everything that was needed, we found the restaurants just too tempting! The accommodation was perfect for a family. Sam, who met us, was so accommodating and helpful- we arrived early and he was still able to let us in. I have stayed in a lot of rented properties (in the UK, NY, throughout France and Spain) and this was one of the absolute best! Can’t wait to come back again. Thanks, Alison
Cons: Room had odd shaped useless bedside tables. Counter was the only shelving facility in the room. Not enough for toiletries, phone/charger, wallets etc. we ordered dinner in the room and had no where to place the dishes except if we removed our stuff or ate on our laps. Most uncomfortable design. Hotel was located 15 minutes away from the charming city hub (on foot). Overall it didn’t add any good impression to make it worth returning to.
Amsterdam has three main theatres which host a wide variety of entertainment. The Stadsschouwburg is the former home of the National Ballet and Opera and offers a mixture of contemporary and traditional plays, mainly by Dutch writers.
Bekijk hotels.
Amsterdam’s 17th century canals run through the heart of the city and have been awarded World Heritage status. Lined by iconic, narrow buildings and home to many sleepy houseboats, a stroll along the maze of canals is a pleasant attraction in itself. When you need to relax, there’s always a café nearby. A combination of pub and cafe, ‘brown cafes’, as they are called, have an intimate, cosy atmosphere and serve a range of traditional drinks and snacks.
Cons: Had booking confirmation in-hand. Manager asked a ton of questions, asked me to email her the confirmation, wasted a half hour till she finally told me the reservation cannot be honored because their reservation system was already closed, meaning they overbooked and refused my reservation after I already showed up at the hotel. They wasted my time. They were rude. They tried to blame me even though all i did was book online. They provided no assistance in getting a different room in the city. Awful experience. BE CAREFULL ON BUSY NIGHTS, THEY OVERBOOK.
Some of the historical luxury hotels or boutique hotels overlooking the canal are valued for their romatic atmosphere, as are houseboats, a speciality of Amsterdam. Several castle hotels, windmill and lighthouse inns are situated in the region, but not directly in the city.
Description Mr. Jordaan provides accommodation in Amsterdam near Anne Frank House and Royal Palace Amsterdam. Around an 11-minute walk from Dam Square, the property is also close to Beurs van Berlage.
Pros: Great central location. Nice, business-class hotel with good facilities and service. Ask for room facing courtyard, which is quieter than street side. Kayak price of $170/nt incl (very good) breakfast was great deal for this property.
Cons: Breakfast was not included and would be an addition $30/person. At that price, it should include a packed bong and tickets to the Van Gogh museum. Rooms were terribly outdated and not in a quaint Dutch way, but in an oddly 80’s post-apocalyptic manner that made me question why I wasn’t staying at a hostel. Our shower didn’t even have a door or a curtain. 5 stars!? Are you kidding me? Europe must max out on a 10 star scale.
If you’ve made it to Amsterdam, you’ll probably want to spend a night (or ten) here; there is far too much to see and do in a day. Spread over nineteen 17th century houses, NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace offers stunning architecture. The rooms are spacious and many have a beautiful city view. Connecting rooms and apartments are available. Luxurious breakfasts are served at Hudson’s Terrace & Restaurant, where guests can also enjoy an à-la-carte menu in the afternoon and evening. The true culinary highlight of the hotel is Restaurant Vermeer which holds one Michelin star and is led by Chef de Cuisine Chris Naylor. For something special, the hotel also has a private boat dock and can organize boat tours and floating dining. There is also a bar and a gym. NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace is the perfect venue for weddings, meetings and special events. The conference center is unique, situated in St. Olaf’s 15th century chapel. There are dedicated event planners and 12 meeting rooms.
Aanrader!”
Pros: The hotel staff were very friendly and responsive. We were upgraded to a nice room. The breakfast was fantastic, probably the best we had had in a long time. The location is perfect for any visitor and Amsterdam is one of the most picturesque cities in the world. Also to note, people in Amsterdam (including all the hotel staff) were extremely friendly and ready to help. Loved it!
Cons: The room was incredibly stuffy as there was no A/C. We couldn’t open the windows at night because the building construction next door started promptly at 7 am and the noise was unbearable with the windows open. Would never had booked here if I knew I would get about 2 hrs of sleep per night. The price was decent but now I know why!
In the summer several hippie-style campgrounds open their camping sites. These are not directly in the city, but most of them are within an easy biking distance of town. In Holland however the weather sometimes makes it unpleasant to stay outdoors. Some campgrounds offer chalets for such cases.
The apartment was perfect for our stay. We were initially hesistant that the noise around Leidesplein may ruin our vacation, but we were surprised that the nosie (even at 4 or 5 in the morning) didn’t bother us! The apartment was clean and very comfortable.
Cons: I had high hopes for this property upon arrival, but overall was let down. I had the hotel dry clean three silk items, all of which were ruined. It took me over a week to get them to resolve it and in the end, they only paid out 75% of the replacement cost. We were put in a disabled accessible room located right by the elevator (despite not requesting an accessible room). It was loud, the accessible shower allowed water to get all over the bathroom floor. The vanity outlet in the bathroom wouldn’t work and it took them coming out two times to fix it, leaving me unable to do my hair both mornings we were there. Upon arrival, the woman who greeted us (and was apparently training) said that welcome drinks were complimentary for guests. When the man training her joined her to do our check-in in the lounge, he asked if we were in town for anything special. I mentioned it was for my husband’s birthday weekend and he offered to “cover our drinks.” This seemed odd given the woman had just told us they were complimentary. Not sure if he was being underhanded or if the woman training was just mistaken. The whole thing struck me as odd.
Amsterdam is a wonderful open minded city. Most people are friendly and unlike Germany not only the people is more beautiful but their attitude as well. This is my second time to Amsterdam ans it will not be my last one.
This lively hotel is right in the middle of the Red Light District. The rooms (and apartments) are decorated with playful touches like graffiti, vibrant wallpaper and neon lights. The hotel’s bar regularly hosts DJ and live music nights.
Amsterdam ID Aparthotel features a rooftop terrace and puts you within a 15-minute drive of Anne Frank House. Guests can visit the fitness center for a workout or grab a bite to eat at Adam’s ID, which serves international cuisine and is open for breakfast. A bar/lounge and a sauna are offered, and in-room conveniences at this Art Deco hotel include refrigerators and microwaves.
Hi, I would just like to say that the apartment was fantastic. The location was second to none, it was spacious and clean, and the check in/out was quick and easy. The owner was very friendly and kept in contact. I will definitely be using this accommodation again, provided it is available !!. Thanks
Pros: Nice rooms with large comfy beds. Great location just across from Central Station and the drop off point for the bus to and from the ferry. Staff were friendly and attentive and the price for the room was very reasonable. All in all a great hotel!
Verzetsmuseum – Also known as the Dutch Resistance Museum, it has proudly been named the top historical museum in the entire country, with its fascinating and moving displays of Dutch stories in World War II.
Grand Hotel Amrth Amsterdam is located in the former Shippinghouse, a decorated monument and example of the Amsterdam School architecture. The 5-star deluxe hotel has 205 rooms in Art Deco style with high ceilings and large windows that allow plenty of natural light, including 22 suites, 8 conference/banquet rooms, a restaurant, a bar/lounge, and a Spa & Wellness centre. At only 500 meters from the Central Station, where you will find bus, tram and metro connections to all areas of the city. The distance from Schiphol airport is only 15 minutes by train.
Cons: My single room was tiny. It was impossible to see the television from the bed. In the evening, the lobby turned into a very crowded and noisy nightlife venue. Because of the crowd, it was difficult to get in and out of the hotel. Would never stay here again.
“The staff were welcoming, going out of their way to make you feel at home. The place had all the facilities we needed, it was super comfortable in the rooms and very clean. I will return here in future”
Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport is really close to the city centre and therefore really easy to get to via a selection of public transport. The easiest way is to hop on the train, which takes around 20 minutes. Alternatively, there are a selection of buses outside the terminals that travel direct to various parts of the city centre. Otherwise there is a busy taxi rank by the airport where you can pick up a quick, cheap cab to your destination.

With its liberal attitude towards sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll Amsterdam has become a firm favourite with stag parties, hen do’s, and students. It’s not all red lights and coffee shops, however. The capital of the Netherlands is home to hundreds of museums and art galleries, colourful flower markets, sprawling parks and quaint cobbled streets. A wide array of independent shops, flea markets and vintage boutiques makes it a dream destination for fashionistas and hipsters.
First, it’s an English speaking Dutch country so that’s major in terms of communication. Second, people are very friendly and helpful so don’t be afraid to stop people and asking them for directions, which trams to take etc. Third, as a vegan it’s a perfect city to eat – lot’s of vegan places or vegan-friendly restaurants so you will not go hungry! Even the main supermarket, Albert Heijn, has many grab and go options, which is great if you don’t want to have to sit in a restaurant.
Cool and convenient, The Student Hotel Amsterdam West is a 3-star contemporary hotel in the upcoming area of Slotervaart. Trendy design touches add a splash of character to this funky hotel, located just a short walk from the Van Gogh Museum. Its set across four classic Amsterdam townhouses, so you can feel like a real local.
