Cons: I had high hopes for this property upon arrival, but overall was let down. I had the hotel dry clean three silk items, all of which were ruined. It took me over a week to get them to resolve it and in the end, they only paid out 75% of the replacement cost. We were put in a disabled accessible room located right by the elevator (despite not requesting an accessible room). It was loud, the accessible shower allowed water to get all over the bathroom floor. The vanity outlet in the bathroom wouldn’t work and it took them coming out two times to fix it, leaving me unable to do my hair both mornings we were there. Upon arrival, the woman who greeted us (and was apparently training) said that welcome drinks were complimentary for guests. When the man training her joined her to do our check-in in the lounge, he asked if we were in town for anything special. I mentioned it was for my husband’s birthday weekend and he offered to “cover our drinks.” This seemed odd given the woman had just told us they were complimentary. Not sure if he was being underhanded or if the woman training was just mistaken. The whole thing struck me as odd.
“The room was very modern and clean and the hotel is located in a safe and quiet part of Amsterdam, not too far from the city centre and there is a tram stop only around 100m away. We also liked that we could rent bikes here and the cafe downstairs was great. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The room looked exactly as it did advertised.”
Pros: Great central location. Nice, business-class hotel with good facilities and service. Ask for room facing courtyard, which is quieter than street side. Kayak price of $170/nt incl (very good) breakfast was great deal for this property.

The smart rooms feature free wifi, flat-screen TVs, and desks.
Pros: Bar and eating area were cool to hang and chill. The beds were a bit firm but I did not mind. Having to keep riding the ferry was a bit much but if you factor that into your commute you should be good. Currently there is a ton of construction on all sides which hindered me finding it the first time but once I found the bridge I was good.
Pros: The Hotel Amrath is a jewel among luxury hotels–beautiful architecture inside and out; clean, spacious comfortable rooms; great accommodating staff; and centrally located so one can walk everywhere. Don’t miss the gorgeous pool and spa.
TV/cable did not work. We called to have it fixed, was assured someone would come to look at it. No one did; kitchen equipment was inadequate, for example only 2 teaspoons; narrow bedrooms require crawling in and out of bed from the foot of the bed. One bathroom overhead light didn’t work. Kick plate under kitchen counter attached with tape and kept falling down.

The apartment was perfect for our stay. We were initially hesistant that the noise around Leidesplein may ruin our vacation, but we were surprised that the nosie (even at 4 or 5 in the morning) didn’t bother us! The apartment was clean and very comfortable.
De Pijp, Amsterdam’s “Latin Quarter” is a trendy residential area with an abundance of cafés, bistros, shops and restaurants. This bustling neighbourhood lies between Museumplein and the River Amstel and plays daily host to the city’s oldest street market, the Albert Cuypmarkt. Picturesque Sarphatipark is a pretty oasis in de Oude Pijp – a haven of calm in the middle of this lively neighbourhood. View hotels.
Pros: The location was very convenient and accessible and the staff was very accommodating. Our room was not ready when we arrived nor was it ready when they told us to return. The management responded with an upgrade at a reasonable rate and free drinks at the bar. The rest of the staff was also great. We enjoyed a bottle of wine in our room & the bartender opened our bottle without corkage fees, gave us crystal glasses to drink out of & even gave us some snacks to enjoy, all on the house! Overall a very great experience; we would consider staying there again!

Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport is really close to the city centre and therefore really easy to get to via a selection of public transport. The easiest way is to hop on the train, which takes around 20 minutes. Alternatively, there are a selection of buses outside the terminals that travel direct to various parts of the city centre. Otherwise there is a busy taxi rank by the airport where you can pick up a quick, cheap cab to your destination.
We would love to give the following testimonial: We visited this home as a family of 4 (2 adults, a 12-year old and a 10-year old), and found it absolutely amazing for our needs. It was so central that we could either walk to everything we needed or grab a tram. Perfect for Anne Franks’ House, the Dam, Central Station and the Canal region. Fantastic restaurants nearby, with great food for all tastes! Although there was a perfect kitchen, supplied with everything that was needed, we found the restaurants just too tempting! The accommodation was perfect for a family. Sam, who met us, was so accommodating and helpful- we arrived early and he was still able to let us in. I have stayed in a lot of rented properties (in the UK, NY, throughout France and Spain) and this was one of the absolute best! Can’t wait to come back again. Thanks, Alison
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Amsterdam and couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. Very comfortable, immaculate, great location, incredibly friendly and professional staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel for pleasure or business trip.

Amsterdam is a cosy city, with a flurry of winding streets, tall, narrow houses, and cute bridges popping up over the array of canals. Strolling through the markets, past the design-led cafes, and the boutique shops is like stepping back in time to a world where cobbled streets ruled and friendly faces were around every corner. There’s a wealth of art and design throughout the city too, with a number of galleries, studios, and museums showcasing the creative atmosphere of Amsterdam. Fit in with the locals by hiring a bike and whizzing alongside trams, over humped bridges, and into the labyrinth of cool, quirky streets. And, afterwards, soak up the intimate ambiance with one of our apartments in Amsterdam, where you can stay in a budget flat or boutique holiday rental in the centre of all the action.
Cons: Room had odd shaped useless bedside tables. Counter was the only shelving facility in the room. Not enough for toiletries, phone/charger, wallets etc. we ordered dinner in the room and had no where to place the dishes except if we removed our stuff or ate on our laps. Most uncomfortable design. Hotel was located 15 minutes away from the charming city hub (on foot). Overall it didn’t add any good impression to make it worth returning to.
