Good afternoon Mo I’d just like to say thanks for letting me and my 2 friends stay in your fantastic Hollywood apartment. It was my 16th trip to Amsterdam and the second time I have stayed in your apartment which has to be the greatest place I have stayed in the many times I’ve been there. The location is fantastic and your hospitality is first class and I’m always comfortable & never once have i never felt relaxed during my stay. Your apartment decor is fun and quirky which I always enjoy when I stay there. I hope we were not to noisy and your apartment was tidy after we left. I look forward to staying at your Hollywood apartment again hopefully in September or early next year. Thanks for a great stay Regards Rob Norris

Pros: Hotel was awesome!! Staying here was an awesome decision. Right next to a metro station, so instant access to city center and everywhere. Hotel was beautiful and everyone was wonderful. Many many amenities and great roof party!
Description Mr. Jordaan provides accommodation in Amsterdam near Anne Frank House and Royal Palace Amsterdam. Around an 11-minute walk from Dam Square, the property is also close to Beurs van Berlage.
Like most major cities Amsterdam is made up of a collection of neighbourhoods, each one with its own personality and selling points. There’s the 9-Straatjes, a small area in the centre that boasts lots of narrow streets lined with quirky shops and cafes. The Centrum is in a similar area and is perhaps the busiest spot in the city. It has a plethora of museums, lively bars, and top-notch shops that are a big hit with tourists and locals. Then there’s De Pijp, which is similar to the 9-Straatjes in appearance but has a lot fewer tourists. This is where you’ll find lots of the markets and local, independent stores. Jordaan is one of the best-loved neighbourhoods in the city, and is home to a lot of young creatives, up-and-coming bars, and street art. NDSM-Werf is similar to Jordaan in that it is hugely creative and is called home by a number of artists, musicians, and students. Then there’s Oud-Zuid, the richer part of the city that caters to expensive tastes and luxury desires.

Kamer erg klein. Heel benauwd, was slechts 1 klein raampje. Kamer lag in de buurt van de toiletten op de gang. Heel veel kabaal van dichtslaande deuren waardoor je bijna niet aan slapen toe kwam. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar.
This B&B boutique hotel is in the city’s 9 straatjes (9 streets) area, which is famous for its excellent shops. This hotel’s suites and apartments are very quirky, the perfect base for those interested in art and vintage style.
We would love to give the following testimonial: We visited this home as a family of 4 (2 adults, a 12-year old and a 10-year old), and found it absolutely amazing for our needs. It was so central that we could either walk to everything we needed or grab a tram. Perfect for Anne Franks’ House, the Dam, Central Station and the Canal region. Fantastic restaurants nearby, with great food for all tastes! Although there was a perfect kitchen, supplied with everything that was needed, we found the restaurants just too tempting! The accommodation was perfect for a family. Sam, who met us, was so accommodating and helpful- we arrived early and he was still able to let us in. I have stayed in a lot of rented properties (in the UK, NY, throughout France and Spain) and this was one of the absolute best! Can’t wait to come back again. Thanks, Alison
De mensen zijn er zeer vriendelijk.Er is veel te zien. Gezellige stad, met kleine steegjes.Ook leuke pleinen waar animatie is. Openbaar vervoer is geweldig. Er zijn genoeg zaken waar je lekker kan eten.
The Old Centre is the heart of Amsterdam. Dam Square is the iconic centre of the neighbourhood, which includes the backpacker (and stag party) mecca of the red light district. There’s plenty of accommodation in central Amsterdam, ranging from hostels to palatial five star hotels. We’ve picked a few of the best hotels to stay in Amsterdam city centre.
Pros: The building is an antique that seems to recently been rejuvenated. It’s important to keep this in mind when coming here, because the place is not a modern hotel, and so some modern things may be missing. For example, the elevators could be quite awkward and I cannot imagine how the floors are handicap accessible. That said, the bathrooms were brand new and quite nice. And finally, they throw in a full, FREE mini-bar.
Pros: The front desk staff was excellent. The hotel was a pleasant surprise. I was thrilled to stay in a room that was large, clean and very comfortable. Loved the robe, slippers and balcony with view of Amsterdam Centraal! The location was perfect. Hotel is historic so parts of it are older but for the location and price I paid I would absolutely stay here again. Also I ordered a pizza from room service and was amazed. It may have been the best pizza I have ever had!
Situated in one of the oldest streets, in the famous old town centre, Hotel Internationaal is only 20 minutes by train from the airport and a 2 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. The hotel has a friendly Dutch pub, which was founded in 1928 for the sailors coming back from their long sea journeys. Until today, the style of the interior has remained authentic, with a old harpoon hanging above the bar and a lot of other antiques reminding us of the “Golden age”.
Amsterdam is so much fun Rent bikes as is great fun but be careful ! Great city for adventures Do the night cruise with beers and burgers it’s fun and a good way to meet people Great city to cycle around or walk and see a lot of places
Right in the heart of the action and just a five-minute walk from the notorious Red Light District, Dam Square lies at the centre of Amsterdam’s main shopping hub. Make sure to visit the Nieuwe Kerk, which regularly features cultural exhibitions. View hotels.
Amsterdam has a quirky range of public transport, including traditional tram services that work through the city, numerous buses, and an extensive and efficient train service that runs to outer parts of the city and nearby towns. Thanks to the canals, there are also a range of water-based transport options, but the best way to get around is by bike – a firm favourite amongst the locals.

In the summer several hippie-style campgrounds open their camping sites. These are not directly in the city, but most of them are within an easy biking distance of town. In Holland however the weather sometimes makes it unpleasant to stay outdoors. Some campgrounds offer chalets for such cases.
Set in a historic building that dates back to 1855, NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky is a landmark in Amsterdam. Grand Café Krasnapolsky is ideal for business lunches, enjoying views of the Dam Square. To unwind, head to Bar The Tailor and enjoy a cocktail menu hand-crafted by Tess Posthumus.
Cons: Our room was on the first floor, so keeping the windows open at night for a breeze did not work out as the street noise was too loud. Our last night we noticed a small visitor in our room, a mouse, who was persistent and did not want to leave. It was our last night so we just said our goodnight to our guest and slept, it’s an old building so I don’t think it is an “infestation” but rather something that comes with staying in an old, large building.
If you’ve made it to Amsterdam, you’ll probably want to spend a night (or ten) here; there is far too much to see and do in a day. Amsterdam hotels range from the basic to brilliant, and if you’re looking for an extra unique place to lay your head check out our pick of 10 unusual hotels in Amsterdam. If you’d rather self-cater though, then you should check out some of the city’s short-stay apartments or houseboats.
With its liberal attitude towards sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll Amsterdam has become a firm favourite with stag parties, hen do’s, and students. It’s not all red lights and coffee shops, however. The capital of the Netherlands is home to hundreds of museums and art galleries, colourful flower markets, sprawling parks and quaint cobbled streets. A wide array of independent shops, flea markets and vintage boutiques makes it a dream destination for fashionistas and hipsters.
Pros: I liked that the location was farther from the tourist areas but still within easy reach of anywhere in Amsterdam you might want to go. Great bar nearby with fantastic patio area called Meneer Nieges. The nearby Jordaan neighborhood is wonderful to explore, especially around sunset.
Situated on Dam Square and offering views of the Royal Palace, the 5-star NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky is an elegant choice. A short walk away, the 4-star Radisson Blu Hotel, Amsterdam, cleverly merges contemporary design with the historical architecture of 18th century merchant houses.
Cons: The room was incredibly stuffy as there was no A/C. We couldn’t open the windows at night because the building construction next door started promptly at 7 am and the noise was unbearable with the windows open. Would never had booked here if I knew I would get about 2 hrs of sleep per night. The price was decent but now I know why!
Known as Grachtengordel in Dutch. This neighbourhood is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and sits just outside the old city centre. The most popular areas to stay here are Rembrandtsplein and Leidseplein, two of Amsterdam’s most popular nightlife areas.
Cons: The front desk and housekeeping seemed understaffed. There always seemed to be a very long line to check in/out & ask questions. Rooms were not ready when promised although it ended up working in our favor as we received an upgrade & free drinks at the bar.
Backpackers looking to spend the night in a cheap, friendly hostel will find themselves welcome at The Flying Pig, with two hostels slap bang in the city centre – one downtown (next to Amsterdam Central Station) and the other uptown. For ethical accommodation with an artsy twist, get with the cultural programme at WOW Hostel, west of the city centre.
Hi, I would just like to say that the apartment was fantastic. The location was second to none, it was spacious and clean, and the check in/out was quick and easy. The owner was very friendly and kept in contact. I will definitely be using this accommodation again, provided it is available !!. Thanks
